OHEA Announces Speakers for Workshop

OHEA is pleased to announce Stacey Oleksy and Cathy Enright as two of six speakers for our leadership workshop. Titled "Career Leadership While Influencing the Community," this event is your chance to take your career in a completely new direction!

Stacey Oleksy

Stacy Oleksy is a graduate of the Human Ecology program (MSc, 2002; BSc, 1997) from the University of Alberta. She is currently the Director of Education and Community Awareness at the Credit Counselling Society, where she's worked for the past ten years.

​​Stacy has recently moved to Ontario from British Columbia, where she lived for the last 18 years. In her spare time, Stacy loves to read, work with fused glass and hang out with her husband and dog Duke.

Cathy Enright

Cathy Enright is a Fellow in Board Governance from the Canadian Board Diversity Council (CBDC). She is the Secretary Treasurer of the Ontario Home Economics Association.

​Cathy began her career as a Home Economist with a large food manufacturer. She then joined the Canadian public service and held several positions before retiring as the Director of Consumer Services and Outreach.

Cathy has worked extensively in strategic communications planning and execution. She directed a Contribution Program, which provides funding for research and development for nonprofit organizations.

She has received a number of awards, including the Deputy Minister Award for Innovation, as well as “Mentor of the Year” from the University of Alberta. She mentors professionals with an interest in communications, public relations and government relations.

​Cathy contributes to her community as a volunteer including her Church, Trillium and the Ottawa Home Economics Association.
