The Ontario Home Economics Association (OHEA) commits itself to the responsible collection, use and disclosure of the personal information of its members in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and An Act respecting the Ontario Home Economics Association, Chapter PR38, Statutes of Ontario, 1989.
The personal information that you provide to OHEA when you become a member, or when you renew your membership, is used by OHEA alone. OHEA will not disclose any of your personally identifiable information without your prior consent except under special circumstances, such as when we believe in good faith that the law requires disclosure. OHEA does not share the personal information you provide to us with other companies. Your name and contact information will be published in OHEA’s Membership Directory unless you opt out of this service by contacting OHEA’s office, or by so indicating on your membership application/renewal form. Reasonable efforts are made to ensure that the information included in the Membership Directory is accurate and updated on a regular basis. OHEA’s Membership Directory is distributed only to OHEA Members.
In addition to the collection of contact information, OHEA will request copies of post-secondary school official transcripts to confirm membership eligibility. This information is used only to confirm membership eligibility and the protection of this information meets PIPEDA criteria.
