THEA - Ontario Home Economics Association

THEA was established in 1938 and continues to:

Promote the well-being of individuals and families
Acquire and disseminate knowledge of common professional interest,
Promote high professional standards
Strive for increased recognition of all facets of the Home Economics profession in a very different world today

Membership benefits include: opportunities to share timely topics of interest to our members with gatherings across the city or online 4 times a year. Theses networking opportunities create new contacts and broad interests in all areas of Home Economics. Frequently these gatherings highlight a variety of occupations in which our members are employed. THEA shares email updates with members regularly featuring, local items of interest and news of members as well as upcoming meeting information.

THEA sponsors the Margorie Thompson Flint Honour Award for distinguished service to the Home Economics profession which is presented at an annual meeting. Member sponsored ‘Student memberships’ encourage students to actively participate in all activities and can be requested on a first come basis.
