Whether you are seeking summer employment, planning for post-graduation careers, or looking to strengthen your professional profile, this workshop aims to provide practical guidance on crafting strong resumes and presenting your skills with confidence. April 4th and 5th: Ontario Maple Weekend!
Ontario Maple Weekend returns April 4–5, 2026, inviting families and communities to experience the rich tradition of maple syrup production across the province. Hosted by local maple producers, this annual event offers a unique opportunity to visit sugar bushes, enjoy pancake breakfasts, sample fresh maple products, and learn how sap is transformed into syrup through live demonstrations. Visitors can also explore scenic trails, enjoy taffy on snow, and connect with local producers. With activities taking place at participating farms throughout Ontario, Maple Weekend is a sweet way to celebrate the season, support local agriculture, and experience one of Canada’s most iconic food traditions. |

Piecemakers 2026 Quilt Show
The Piecemakers 2026 Quilt Show is a celebration of quilting artistry hosted by the Huron Perth Quilters Guild and Stonetowne Quilters Guild in St. Marys. The event takes place at the Pyramid Centre and features new quilt displays, a Merchants’ Mall, a boutique, and a lunch café, offering something for quilt lovers and makers alike. Admission is $10, and the show runs on April 23–24, 2026 with doors opening at 10:00 AM and closing at 5:00 PM on both days. This annual event is a great opportunity for craft enthusiasts to admire beautiful quilts, support local quilting communities, and connect with fellow fibre arts fans. |

School Food for All: Nourishing Futures Forum
Registration is now open for the School Food for All: Nourishing Futures Forum, a Canada-wide gathering focused on the future of school food programs. Taking place June 2–4, 2026 in Montreal at the Palais des congrès, the forum will bring together educators, public health professionals, researchers, food system leaders, and community partners to share ideas and explore ways to strengthen school food initiatives across Canada. Participants will engage in workshops, discussions, and collaborative planning to support healthy, sustainable, and equitable school food programs for children and youth. |

Work and Family Researchers Network Conference 2026
The Work and Family Researchers Network will host its 8th Biennial Conference from June 17–20, 2026, at Concordia University in Montreal. Bringing together more than 400 scholars, practitioners, and policymakers, the conference will explore the theme “Centering Care Across the Life Course,” focusing on how caregiving shapes families, workplaces, and communities. Sessions will highlight research, policies, and practices that support wellbeing and equitable care systems. The event includes preconference workshops, keynote presentations, networking opportunities, and discussions on advancing work-family research and policy. Registration is now open for those interested in contributing to and learning from this global conversation. |

The 2026 Common Ground Food Forum, Building a bigger table: Strengthening our relations
Save the Date: June 15–19, 2026, at Lakehead University in Orillia. Join the Common Ground Network, Food Secure Canada, the Canadian Association for Food Studies, and Food Communities Network for a collaborative forum. "Specifically, building a bigger table will bring academic researchers together with agriculture and food systems actors, including civic/community organizations, government, industry organizations, and Indigenous and settler communities, to share knowledge, forge and strengthen connections across disciplines and sectors, and seed new collaborations in food systems research and action."
