Herb Stovel Scholarship – National Trust for Canada
The Herb Stovel Scholarship supports emerging heritage conservation professionals and students across Canada, honoring the legacy of restoration architect Herb Stovel by funding learning, research, travel, and conference participation. |
Awards Offered
Project Research Bursaries — Up to $2,500 for heritage conservation projects, travel, and participation in professional events.
National Trust Conference Bursaries — Approximately $1,000 to support travel, accommodation, and conference registration.
Eligibility
Open to Canadian citizens aged 20–35 who are students in heritage conservation-related programs or recent graduates (within two years) working in the heritage sector.

Gro for Good – Scotts Canada Initiative
Gro for Good is a grant program led by Scotts Canada that supports the development of community gardens and green spaces across Canada. The initiative provides financial grants to non-profit organizations, schools, and municipalities to help create sustainable outdoor spaces that enhance community wellbeing, promote healthy living, and encourage engagement with nature. Projects are evaluated based on community impact, sustainability, youth involvement, and benefits such as edible gardening, environmental enhancement, and health outcomes. Each year, selected recipients receive funding to implement their garden projects during the growing season, with opportunities to demonstrate meaningful contributions to local environments and community life.

Call for Proposals: Leadership Development (Doris Badir) Award — Application Deadline: February 28, 2026
The Canadian Home Economics Foundation is now accepting applications for the Leadership Development (Doris Badir) Award, a national award recognizing and supporting emerging leaders in human ecology and home economics.
This $1,000 award is open to undergraduate and graduate students who demonstrate strong leadership within their academic community, professional associations, and broader community. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents, enrolled full-time in a human ecology or related program, and have completed at least one year of post-secondary study.
The award honours the legacy of Doris Badir, PHEc, a distinguished Canadian home economist and international leader in the profession.
Award Amount: $1,000
